Bangkok’s city and temple tour guide

Experience the best of Bangkok’s city and temple culture on this Half-day / full-day tour. You will visit some of the most impressive landmarks, including the Grand Palace and Wat Po, as well as take a boat ride along the Chaophraya River. You will also take a trip to a local floating market and learn about local Thai culture and history. The floating market tour needs a separate day.
1. Wat Pho - Historically known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, this is one of Bangkok's oldest and largest temple complexes with a towering Buddha statue at its center. The reclining Buddha is made of gold-plated solid bronze and stretches an impressive 46 meters in length, and 15 meters in height, and boasts intricate decorations depicting stories from Buddha’s life.
2. Grand Palace - With a mix of striking colors, spires, and Thai architecture that will make your jaw drop, the Grand Palace is home to some of Thailand’s most iconic landmarks and a must-see for tourists visiting Bangkok. Located in the heart of Bangkok it was once home to Siam’s ruling royal family emphasizing its grandeur across 174 acres!
3. National Museum - Visitors of all ages are sure to learn about Thai history during their visit to the National Museum in Bangkok! Built at the end of 1874 by King Rama V, this museum contains various displays depicting Thailand’s long journey through time. You can discover ancient artifacts and royal regalia that help paint a vivid picture of traditional Thai culture.
4. Wat Arun (Temple Of Dawn) – Boasting one of Bangkok's most recognizable landmarks due to its spectacular 79-meter tall steeple complex tower made entirely out of colored glass tiles and Chinese porcelain pieces, Wat Arun stands tall on the banks of the Chao Phraya River facing the west side - towards the setting sun giving it its name ‘Temple Of Dawn’. Riding on the Chao Phraya Express Boat from Tha Tien Pier to Wat Pho takes you straight there!
5. Khaosan Road - Without doubt one amongst iconic roads lined with bustling market stalls specializing mainly in ready-to-wear clothes stores that offer excellent value for money clothing along with plenty more touristy stalls selling souvenirs such as t-shirts, wooden handicrafts & traditional Thai Boxing shorts not forgetting classic movie memorabilia drawing a contrast with plenty more international restaurants serving food from all around the world!
6. Chinatown - What better way to gain insight into Chinese culture than immersing yourself in a full-stop Chinatown experience? Take a stroll down Yaowarat Rd to try out local street foods. Discover past Chinese merchant shop fronts preserved throughout history, and negotiate some great bargains on any goods you find in Chinatown. Then head over to Sampeng Market located near Tha Ratchawong Pier for retail therapy!
7. Floating Markets–Thailand has many floating markets scattered about but none quite like Damnoen Saduak located 90 kilometers outside central Bangkok where you witness hundreds (even thousands!) of boats packed up unraveling unique delights ranging from fresh tropical fruits & crispy snacks combined with cultural vendors all eager to capture your attention upon arrival as they paddle deeper inside canal depths selling all kinds of goodies!
